DIY Soldering Workstation Desk Lamp
A budget-friendly adjustable desk lamp built from a used Tonor microphone arm and an IKEA Mörker lamp using a custom Fusion 360 adapter.

Overview
TL;DR
A custom modeled adapter connects an old IKEA Mörker lamp to a used Tonor microphone arm to create an adjustable desk lamp for a soldering workstation. The current prototype relies on hot glue to secure the lamp's plastic connection.

Features
- Custom modeled Fusion 360 adapter
- Repurposed Tonor microphone arm
- Repurposed IKEA Mörker lamp
Entry 01
Problem
An adjustable desk lamp was needed for a soldering workstation, but the goal was to avoid spending a significant amount of money on a dedicated, arretable lamp.
Entry 02
Solution
A budget-friendly option was created by combining an already owned IKEA Mörker lamp with a used Tonor microphone arm purchased for 10€. A custom adapter was modeled in Fusion 360 to connect the lamp's plug-in connection to the universal microphone thread of the arm.
Entry 03
Implementation
The project involved modeling a small adapter in Fusion 360 designed to transition from the specific plug connection of the IKEA lamp to the universal thread of the microphone arm.
Entry 04
Result
The project has reached a working prototype phase. However, because the cheap plastic connection of the IKEA lamp does not snap in nicely, the current assembly relies on hot glue to function properly.
